There are four cleaning modes that ensure you get the type of mop you need on your floors including an intensive cleaning mode, edge cleaning mode, spot cleaning, and auto cleaning mode. Product FAQ

1. What Exactly Does a Robot Mop Do?

Similar to robot vacuums, robot mops are designed to glide around your hard surface floors and lift the dirt off by releasing water like a traditional mop and then drying the surface to collect any dirty water left behind. Some of the robot mops spray water in front of the device, similar to a handheld Swifter mop. Other models will drip water below and then scrub.

2. What Types of Floors Do the Best Robot Mops Work On?

Robot mops are designed to work on hard, solid surface floors such as hardwood, tile, vinyl or linoleum. There are robot mops that also tackle vacuuming carpets. This is a great option when you only want one robot to clean. If you prefer deeper cleaning robots, you might be better getting one designed specifically for mopping and one for vacuuming.

3. How Long Do Batteries Typically Last?

On most robot mops, the battery will stay charged upwards of an hour to almost two hours. The robot mops with lower battery lives are still good options if you have a smaller home or an apartment. If you have a larger home or area to mop, you will want to consider a robot mop that has a longer battery life as you will get more cleaning out of it each time it runs.

4. Is Scheduling a Good Option?

We like the robot mops that you can put on a schedule. This is just one less thing you have to think about. The robot mops that clean on your schedule and return themselves to the charging stations are the best in our opinion. A lot of people like to schedule their robot mops to run at night while they are sleeping or during the day when they are away for work.

5. Are Robot Mops Noisy?

Most robot mops come with a noise level rating so you can see how quiet they are. This is something to think about because if you work from home or plan to watch a movie, you don’t want a noisy mop working its way around your home.

6. What about Remotes and Wi-FI Capability?

About half of the robot mops on our best robot mop list are controlled with an app on your phone. These typically have more features that require more complex programming than you could do on a remote. These robot mops have virtual planning and mapping. Robot mops with just a remote are simpler to use. You have to weigh what will meet your cleaning needs and if things like mapping are important to you. If you have lots of areas in your house, you don’t want the robot mop going, then consider a robot mop with mapping options and wi-fi capability.

Conclusion

We reviewed a lot of great robot mop options. There are certain features we think are more valuable than others. The ability to automatically return to its own charging dock is a great feature, so you don’t forget to charge the robot mop between uses. All of the robot mops have sensors to keep them from falling down the stairs. We love the mops that have extra cleaning power like HEPA filters and the ability to reuse cleaning cloths.

For the best robot mop on our list, we recommend the Pure Clean PUCRC95 Automatic Robot. It’s straightforward and easy to use and has great reviews. It’s great for pets and has excellent cleaning power. It also happens to be one of the more affordable options on our list making it even better.
